Thendo Mudau

Thendo Mudau is a final-year Computer Science Honours student at the University of Pretoria, with a BSc in Data Science and a BCom in Investment Management and Banking from the University of the Free State.

Interests lie between the technical and commercial sides of things, whether that's building machine learning models or working through risk and financial questions. Recent projects include sentiment detection research using RoBERTa, an electricity load forecasting model, and an emotion classification project for African languages. Thendo also did vacation work with PwC's SAP Digital Trust team, working on IT audit and controls assessments for clients including a major retail distribution business.

Thendo is mostly interested in data, technology risk, and governance work — roles that draw on both a technical background and a grasp of how businesses actually run.
