[University of Pretoria] [ML] [NLP]
I am a BScHons Computer Science student at the University of Pretoria. My research focuses on building the first end-to-end Automatic Speech Recognition to misinformation detection pipeline for Tshivenda, a low-resourced South African language spoken in Limpopo. I am interested in NLP and how technology can actually serve communities that are usually left out of the conversation, especially when it comes to African languages. Outside of research I work as a Junior Software Engineer where I build production-ready web and mobile apps. I also tutor and assistant lecture at UP on the side.
